Healing Stewed Apples

  • Apples contain two types of fibre, this helps alleviate constipation, reduces cholesterol, helps with weight loss and cancer prevention

  • Apples contain polyphenols they act as a prebiotic for beneficial bacteria, promoting their growth and diversity and help lower gastrointestinal inflammation

  • Apples contain quercetin, which helps modulate the immune response and stabilise mast cells, lowering histamine levels

  • Cinnamon improves insulin resistance and blood glucose levels

ingredients:

  • 6 apples

  • 2 tsp. of cinnamon

  • Coconut yogurt to serve

How to make the apples:

  • Peel and core 6 apples and chop

  • Put the apples with 2 tsp. of cinnamon and 1/2 a cup of water in a covered pan and boil for about 15 min until soft

  • They can be eaten warm or cold with some coconut yogurt
