Skin Care = Hair Care

You should treat your hair like you would treat your skin!

Our scalp may be covered with hair but it requires the same care as the rest of our skin. In our skin we would notice a glow, but with our hair we would notice more strength and growth in our hair. So when your skin sufferers, your hair does too!

If you are looking for great hair care, you should start looking from the inside. Hair grows deep in the skin where shampoos and conditioners can't reach. That's why having the right nutrients from the beginning to help the hair grow is so vital.

If you eat plenty of fresh food; cut down on stimulants such as coffee, tea, and alcohol; increase vitamin B; stick with cold-pressed oils and unsaturated fatty acids; and get enough sleep, you will be on your way to a glorious head of hair. Stress can also affect the hair.

A lack of vitamins A,B,C,D,E, iron and selenium can contribute to thinning of the hair or weaken the hair. Getting plenty of nutrition through diet and supplementation is crucial.

Here are some vitamins and easy hair care products that you can make yourself:

Oily hair can be due to vitamin B deficiency. Biotin supports the production of keratin, which is the protein that makes up our hair. B9 and B12 are involved in creating red blood cells, these cells are important to deliver oxygen to the cells for a healthy scalp and hair. B5 acts as a humectant, soothing and hydrating the scalp.

Poor hair growth or hair loss could be a sign of zinc deficiency. Zinc is also important to regulate oil production keeping hair healthy and clean. Hair loss can also be connected to a general nutritional deficiency.

Iron especially helps carry oxygen around the body, so without it, hair growth will be compromised.

Vitamin C is important for collagen production. Collagen is involved in hair production.

Vitamin A plays an important role in cell turnover in the skin and important for our hair.

Vitamin D is another important vitamin for general health, and evidence suggests that it has a specific role in the health of our hair. Hair skin nail complex supplement is a good hair and nail supplement.

Dry and brittle hair can be due to an essential fatty acid deficiency. Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids make your hair thicker and prevent hair loss by delivering essential nutrients and proteins.

Supporting gut health with a diverse diet and beneficial bacteria supplement has benefits for healthy hair.

Are you spending too much on expensive shampoos and hair products full of chemicals, but not getting the desired results? Here are some simple tips that you can use to get shiny and healthy hair:

Egg is an amazing hair cleanser because the protein in eggs helps to add texture, volume, and shine. Eggs are also full of vitamin A, D, E, B12, biotin, iodine, selenium, and pantothenic acid. Apply a ½  cup of whole, beaten egg to damp hair and leave for 20 minutes, then rinse with cool water.

Marula oil is very moisturizing for dry hair. This oil is high in antioxidants, essential fatty acids, and amino acids. This super nourishing and hydrating oil is derived from the nuts of the fruit of the marula trees. It’s suitable for all hair types. To use, wash your hair as usual. Warm the marula oil in the sauce pan (but not too hot) and apply the oil evenly to your hair. Massage the scalp and leave in your hair for 20-30 minutes, then wash your hair twice.

Vinegar rinses for greasy hair are great too! Use 3 drops of thyme essential oil to 1 tablespoon of cider vinegar, and mix to dissolve the thyme. Add one cup of water. After your shampooing, put your head over a bowl and run the rinse through your hair several times to ensure effective coverage.

Essential oils are great for dandruff as they get to the root of the problem and banish this scourge once and for all. Blend together 5 drops of carrot oil, 15 drops of jojoba, 15 drops of evening primrose, and 3 drops of cypress oil. Dip your fingertips into the mixture and massage into the scalp (not your hair) with your fingertips every night before bed.

The most effective home treatment for hair care is a healthy diet and supplementation. You are what you eat, and what you put into your body will be reflected on the outside. So take care of your hair by taking care of the inside!
